What is Secure Folder

Secure Folder is a piece of software that enables the user to create password-protected and encrypted directories on their computer to prevent unauthorized access.

Secure Folder is designed for any user to be able to figure out. It has minimal controls and offers one type of encryption: AES-256, to keep your files safe. To be clear, Secure Folder will not stop someone who has broken into your computer from reading your files; you can still be keylogged to get the password to the folder. It has a Mac-themed user interface which may be confusing for some people. Secure Folder offers three modes that can be customized for each folder: hide, lock, and encrypt. Hiding a folder does not encrypt its contents, but others will not be able to see it exists. Lock is a similar option, but it just makes the file not openable until the user goes into the program to open it.
